White Rhino marijuana seeds from Green House are a “white” Indica marijuana strain based on White Widow x Afghani. Thus, White Rhino is derived from landraces native to Brazil, South India and Afghanistan. A hardy example of old-school strains, the plant not only retains the signature stamina of the White Widow but has become even stronger thanks to being relative to resilient marijuana of Middle East, which can tolerate heat and thrive on limited resources, as well as protect itself from harsh UV rays with a thick layer of resin.
Such key terpenes as myrcene, pinene, caryophyllene create a musky aroma with hints of wood, citrus and peach blossom. White Rhino is also more branched compared to WW and, as a result, heavier: under ideal growing conditions the final weight is above average. White Rhino formed the basis for such famous hybrids as Cream Caramel, Green Rhino, and Blue Rhino. This strain has won High Times, Champions Cup and Spannabis awards.
White Rhino cannabis seeds come from squat plants with a fleshy central stem, up to 100 cm tall indoors (<110 cm outdoors). Due to its tendency to grow branchy, wide 15-25 liter pots were ideal. Breeders preferred organic soil mixes with perlite and dolomite flour to stabilize pH. When grown on coco coir, the strain required calcium and magnesium fertilizers. The strain thrived in a growbox with HPS or 600W LED lighting. During the vegetative stage, the plant developed wide, burdock-like leaves. Short internodes made White Rhino perfect SoG material, but ScroG training was used the most often.
At flowering, the strain was sensitive to overwatering. Air aeration was crucial for indoor cultivation: refreshing the air during flowering prevented rot and mold. Around week 4-5 explosive trichome production began. Large buds gradually acquired a metallic sheen, and the aroma became more pronounced, with hints of orange peel. Readiness was determined by the state of the trichomes, when 70% had turned milky white and 30% had turned amber. Outdoors, White Rhino withstood nighttime temperature drops down to 12-15°C and demonstrated resistance to spider mites. Flowering and maturation took about 9 weeks; outdoors, the planting was ready by mid-October.
