Skunk #1 cannabis seeds are a classic Indica marijuana strain with a sharp aroma of citrus, wood and mango. This weed is an Acapulco Gold x Colombian Gold x Afghani cross, thus descending from Afghani Indica (dense, resinous buds and a strong structure) as well as Mexican and Colombian landraces (tropical aromas and vibrant appearance). Hardy and stable, Skunk #1 boasts a high concentration of resins, flavonoids, and essential oils, and is the ancestor of nearly half of all modern hybrids! Such strains descend from it: Mazar, Jack Herer, many varieties of Diesel family, Gorilla, Green Crack, Cheese, Banana OG, Tangie, Fractal and others.
The pungent chemical aroma of Skunk (the strain’s name refers to a very smelly animal) is due not only to the predominant terpenes myrcene, limonene, and pinene (plus smaller amounts of humulene and caryophyllene). So what else is behind its furious reeking? Skunk #1 has been recently discovered to be rich in sulfur compounds, hence the “poisonous” notes in its aroma palette. There are many derivatives based on this genotype: Shiva Skunk, Super Skunk, Lemon Skunk, Skunk Haze and many others. However, many collectors want to buy Skunk #1 — that very one, and 33 Stakana store offers original Skunk seeds, grown in Netherlands under high quality standards.
Skunk cannabis seeds were obtained from vigorous parent plants reaching 100-135 cm indoors and 150-185 cm outdoors. Since photoperiod cannabis can be transplanted, seedlings were typically transferred to increasingly larger containers (ultimately 20-30 liters) as they developed. ScroG or SoG training was often used, as the Dutch plantations were large. However, the vigorous and fast-growing behavior of Skunk #1 cannabis left no doubt that this strain could withstand various types of pruning with significant benefits for future growth: branched, robust plants with well-developed stems stood out even among the more sophisticated varieties.
With the start of flowering, the plant gained height and intensified its aroma. As the cannabis plant sprouted fluffy, voluminous colas of exotically shaped buds, the pleasant aroma of citrus, pine, and mango transformed into a fierce, concentrated stench with hints of ginger. Skunk #1 matured in mid-October, at which point it was thickly coated with crystals and a riot of green, contrasted vividly by white trichomes and orange hairs. The smell reached unimaginable strength: ammonia and concentrated mojito.
