Auto Magnum cannabis seeds are of particular interest to connoisseurs because their genetic origin is unknown. Discussions on this subject continue mainly because of Auto Magnum’s success among breeders due to its attractive appearance: rich tropical colors, beautiful inflorescence and leaves. The strain’s terpene profile has also received praise – the aroma is rich, herbaceous with notes of citrus, pine, and peppermint.
So, only two facts are known about the genetics of this strain:
- Indica and sativa are roughly equal in the pedigree;
- Auto Magnum was created by crossing three varieties of marijuana.
You may ask, are there any assumptions about this? Some experts believe that one of the parent strains could be OG Kush, citing its broad, branchy structure, which is not typical of sativa autoflowers. Others point to Jack Herrer and Haze, which would explain the specific menthol notes in the aroma, as well as the color of this cannabis. This mysterious and extremely successful hybrid occupies a special place in collections around the world—sooner or later, the strain is bound to win a prize at a cannabis cup, thereby further enhancing its already high status.
The parent plants of Auto Magnum cannabis take root well in any type of soil and substrate. Breeders have experimented with different soil mixes and achieved excellent results. The vigorous vegetative growth of cannabis in coconut substrate, hydroponic environment, and natural soil allows Magnum to compete in several categories at once, which increases both the strain’s chances of winning and its collectible value. Genetically prone to branching, this bush significantly increased in width with training, which subsequently allowed for a 30-50% increase in final mass compared to untrained individuals.
Of course, the hybrid’s most striking potential was evident during flowering. The modest white hairs that marked the beginning of this stage quickly formed into dense buds. The inflorescences then rapidly grew along the entire length of the shoots, making the marijuana look more and more like Mexican cacti. The flowering plants gave off the aroma of tropical salad with pine needles and mint. A pleasant feature of the hybrid was its intense resin production: of course, most Afghan indica strains (especially those without sativa admixtures) are often more sticky, but Magnum is able to compete with them. In fact, this factor led to the assumption that Oji Kush was present in its genealogy. It is not yet possible to verify whether this is the case, but the aroma and texture of the inflorescences clearly indicate a relationship with the Diesel family.
