Bubblegum Auto marijuana seeds are the most authentic autoflowering version from Dutch breeders. The Bubblegum genotype has won awards in the Bio (i.e., natural soil) and Outdoor categories according to Spannabis in 2005 and 2007. High Times awarded Bubblegum silver medals in two categories: Hydro and Best Strain in 1995. To preserve all the parameters of such a revered cannabis, the autoflowering variety was created with special tricks: the photoperiodic Bubblegum was not crossed directly with ruderalis, but… with an autoflowering variety of the same strain.
After that, numerous backcrosses and selection techniques were used, with which the Dutch modernized Auto Bubblegum in terms of structure, overall mass, endurance, and resin production. The result is an extremely aromatic and massive strain capable of competing with such old-timers of the market and competition arena as Auto Green Crack, Auto Jack Herrer, and Auto Girl Scout Cookies.
Interestingly, the genetics of Bubble Gum remain a mystery—all that is known is that this fragrant marijuana was created in the US state of Indiana. Experts’ opinions differ: some say that the strain combines the genes of Afghan, Thai, and Nepalese varieties, while others believe that it is a hybrid of Mexican sativa and South Indian indica. What do you think?
The mother plants finished their growing season in 3-4 weeks, and what did they manage to achieve in such a short time? They secured a comfortable future for themselves thanks to their strong stems, branched root systems, dense shoots, and strong immunity. As can be seen from the list of awards for the photo base of this strain, the genotype is capable of developing in any environment – and the autoflowering variety has not only inherited this property, but it has even been enhanced by ruderalis genes and the work of breeders.
Auto Bubblegum is a highly stable variety—apart from differences in height (20-30 cm) and ripening times in hydroponics, indoor and outdoor soil, and greenhouses, the bushes looked almost identical. The majority of parental samples under the supervision of 4:20 Seeds breeders exhibited an indica phenotype: broad leaves, a branchy and stocky structure, and flowering time of about 9 weeks. Only a small percentage (about 1/10) showed a predominance of sativa, which was noticeable from the narrow leaves, the overall elongated shape of the bush, and the extended flowering period of up to 10 weeks. The plants exuded a unique sweet and sour aroma reminiscent of childhood chewing gum.
