Afghan Original cannabis seeds by Divine Seeds are a landrace marijuana strain, a pure example of high-altitude Afghani Indica. Afghan Original is extremely resinous and dense, and thanks to its origins, it is resistant to temperature fluctuations, drought, and hot weather. Its terpene profile (dominated by myrcene, caryophyllene, pinene) creates a rich, pungent aroma of damp earth with piney, dried apricot, wooden hints.
In countries where medical cannabis is legal, strains like Afghan Original are considered the most promising for treating cramps, nausea, weight loss, and chronic pain. From a collector’s perspective, Afghan Original is interesting because it contains no Kush genetics and has not been crossbred with other strains. Breeders made this native mountain strain taller by means of selection, and that’s it. Nothing else was changed.
Afghan Original cannabis strain
Afghan Original marijuana seeds were obtained from plants growing 120-160 cm tall indoors, up to 170-200 cm outdoors. Therefore, a full-sized plant required a 20-30 litre pot, but this was the final size: plants were transplanted from smaller to larger containers as they developed. During both the selection stage and seed production, the parent plants were trained using the ScroG method, and were also tested with SoG, mainlining, cloned, and supercropped. This resilient landrace marijuana quickly recovered its growth rate after the intervention and branched vigorously!
As flowering progressed, the “default” strawberry-herbal scent of cannabis became more pungent. The plants quickly filled the internodes with a dense mass of flowers. Without training, a huge central apex the size of a baby’s head formed in 5-6 weeks, while trained plants turned into a veritable garden: as if a single, solid bud cast a shadow over almost 2 m2! Having formed a massive outline, the cannabis began accumulating essential resins and terpenes, and by the end of this process, the mature plants smelled fiercely of musk, pine needles, and fresh wood.
