Mazar marijuana seeds are one of the most famous examples of Afghan indica, gradually becoming the basis for more and more new hybrids. In turn, the Mazar genotype is based on a super-stable Afghan landrace originating from Mazar-i-Shariff, where local enthusiasts have been breeding it for decades, bringing this resinous marijuana to perfection. Interestingly, the strain has reached collectors in virtually unchanged form, despite the addition of Skunk genes.
The innovation mainly affected the height of the variety, its ability to tolerate high humidity, and slightly enriched the aroma with fruity notes—otherwise, the phenotype retained all the characteristic differences of the classic Afghani Indica. The strain is notable for its record concentration of resins and essential oils, and has won prizes at the High Life and High Times Cannabis Cup.
Divine Seeds breeders were pleased with the performance of their version of Mazar cannabis in cultivation. The renowned stability of Mazar was preserved—under similar conditions, the samples had the same appearance and structure. The variety demonstrated a spreading, branchy structure, a strong and active root system, and a dense stem; all signs pointed to an impressive final weight in the future – and this was confirmed by the result. Vegetation was successful in soil mixtures and various types of substrate, in hydroponic and aeroponic installations, in closed/open ground and greenhouse conditions.
As for flowering, the plant quickly absorbed the remaining vegetative mass in the first 1-2 weeks. Then the flower buds gradually spread across the upper half of the plant, along the entire length of the shoots and stems. The aroma had woody, coniferous, and nutty notes. From the middle of flowering, aromatic oils, essential resins, sugars, and other organic compounds were intensively produced. The plant successfully protected itself from parasites and pests thanks to a cloud of pungent musky aroma. The ripening bushes were covered with a thick layer of sticky resin, their fan-shaped leaves turned yellow, and sometimes there were yellowish and light green spots on the tops. At the time of pollination, one outdoor bush could weigh up to 1000 g without branches and leaves, and up to 600 g in closed ground.
