This brilliant gourmet variety was bred in the Netherlands – Auto Desfran marijuana seeds attract the attention of collectors of unusual genetics, as the predominant tone in the aromatic range of this strain is the sweet and sour aroma of green apples and pears, similar to Duchess! But let’s take it one step at a time. How did breeders manage to create such a miracle? Desfran comes from Mexican and Colombian sativa landraces, which were “married” to Thai Meao Thai in the Destroyer genotype. The strain came to Europe from South America, where it was developed.
The genotype is still successful today, having won many competitions and cannabis cups. Interestingly, Auto Desfran was obtained by crossing a photoperiod base with Daiquiri Lime Auto, a hybrid with an amazing citrus-fuel aroma and rare beauty, which brought to the genotype the legacy of such classic masterpieces as Californian Orange and Sour Diesel. A whole bouquet in one seed!
At the seedling stage, cannabis species do not differ greatly from one another. When the seeds were obtained, the seedlings developed quickly, strengthening their stems and spreading their root systems underground, which had a noticeable effect on the above-ground part—the bushes grew strong shoots and a moderate crown consisting of pointed leaves of rich color with thin “fingers.” The future mother plants were impressive in their adaptability and robust health. Bulk Seeds breeders tested their survival and ability to develop in different environments and found no problems – except that in open ground, vegetation was more vigorous, and the bushes were slightly taller than the indoor samples.
With the onset of flowering, the parent bushes became densely covered with buds, fruity notes appeared in the aroma, and the vegetative mass increased sharply (by 20-35% in 1-2 weeks). The Desfran Auto inflorescences were elongated in shape, resembling pine or fir cones, and were not particularly loose, which pleased the breeders who sought to create a truly competitive autofem. As they matured, the donor plants acquired a bright color with orange stamens and, often, yellow spots on the leaves, and a pungent fuel aroma appeared. Moreover, depending on the phenotype, the inflorescences could be colored in lilac and purple tones—this cannabis had an amazingly elegant appearance!
