Several (according to legend, five) of the most fertile and concentrated Gorilla Glue phenotypes were used to create this strain. The offspring were then subjected to backcrossing and selection until the population reached a kind of golden mean: maximum productivity, a killer smell, and stickiness like honeycombs.
Its pedigree includes Afghan, Brazilian, Mexican, and Colombian cannabis landraces. The smell is reminiscent of wet dog hair with hints of pine. Gorilla #5 cannabis seeds are protected by a viability guarantee from the seed bank if purchased in their original packaging.

It was hard not to notice the signs of indica dominance in these branchy, dense plants with strong stems. The parent specimens quickly formed a broad root system capable of providing the plant with abundant nutrition. Subsequently, lush crowns and multiple side branches grew, often slightly bending the shoots with their weight—although Gorilla’s “arms” are far from weak.
As flowering began, the internodes were adorned with lively hairs, and the height of the donor plants reached its final mark within 1-2 weeks. From that moment on, the aroma became noticeably pungent. The sativa genetics influenced the shape of the buds and added spicy notes to the aroma. Gorilla #5 showed enviable immunity to insect pests and hot weather conditions. A pleasant feature is the size of the side buds, which are often indistinguishable from the main bud.
