Northern Lights autoflowering cannabis seeds are a product that could only have appeared in our progressive times. This strain is interesting in that, on the one hand, it is completely classic, derived from 100% original Northern Lights stock without any admixtures. At the same time, Canadian breeders Divine Seeds worked with the genotype through selection both before and after giving the strain autoflowering properties – their goal was to increase the size of Auto Northern Lights, which was initially very modest.
The result is a medium-sized, productive, and highly resinous autoflowering strain based on Afghan landrace genetics. Northern Lights Auto has a mild aroma dominated by musk and earthy notes.
Appearance of Northern Lights Auto
The Northern Lights strain is known as one of the most resilient in history, and the autoflowering version from Divine Seeds raises the bar even higher in this regard: the Canadian ruderalis content makes Auto Northern Lights theoretically adaptable to outdoor growing in any climate, and breeders have also worked on its immunity to stress, pests, and fungal diseases. As a result, the Northern Lights Auto parent strains easily adapted to any type of substrate, air and water environment, and greenhouse conditions during seed production.
The new autoflowering variety was more branchy than the original genotype, which was also a result of careful breeding. Overall, the appearance of the mother plants clearly showed a predominance of indica, close to 95%. During flowering, the plants were covered with dense clusters of medium-sized inflorescences and emitted a spicy aroma, which was not particularly intense.
