Auto Jamaica feminized cannabis seeds are a prime example of autoflowering sativa genetics. This type of marijuana is extremely popular in the Caribbean! Since Marley Seedbank’s breeders are based in Jamaica, their experts are particularly knowledgeable about the diversity of local cannabis. The Auto Jamaica strain is based on the highly respected Jamaican sativa, which local breeders sometimes use to create new strains and sometimes grow in its pure form. The second parent variety is a Cuban Indica-Sativa landrace, rich in trichomes, terpenes, and essential oils.
The resulting autoflowering hybrid was backcrossed with its parent varieties to maximize its potential and endow it with a rich, intense aroma: honey, black tea, tobacco, and spices, with hints of mango.
Breeders describe Auto Jamaica mother plants as resilient and hardy cannabis. Excellent development in any (suitable) soil/substrate allowed for strong and tall bushes with a structure that promised a generous abundance of buds in the future by the beginning of flowering. Auto Jamaica was not susceptible to parasites and diseases thanks to its strong immunity. With the onset of flowering, the fruity notes in the aroma intensified, and the plants grew rapidly. The white hairs of the buds at the nodes (the points where the stem intersects with the branches) quickly turned into inflorescences. Then, within 4-5 weeks, a sweet-smelling mass of flowers covered all the free space on the plant.
For comparison, breeders trained some of the plants and left others in their natural state. At maturity and pollination, the trained samples weighed 20-35% more due to their structure. The untrained specimens had a thinner, more elongated structure. The maturing Auto Jamaica cannabis was voluminous, sparkling with all shades of green plus lemon spots and streaks on the leaves (a result of nitrogen loss, which moved to the top). A huge number of crystals gave the plant a festive, elegant look — a variety that is bright in every sense.
