An autoflower from Jamaican breeders Marley Seedbank, Auto Gorilla #5 is not far behind its crowned ancestor, as breeders used 5 different Gorilla Glue phenotypes, as well as a specially developed Afghan indica strain.
The main focus was on the concentration of aromatic and bioactive substances, as well as on the branched shape and thick shoots. As a result, against the backdrop of 90% autoflowering relatives, Auto Gorilla #5 looks like a rhino among chickens – dense and sturdy, with a frenzied musky-pine amber. It comes from Brazilian, Mexican, Thai, and Afghan cannabis landraces.
Morphological properties of Auto Gorilla #5
The Auto Gorilla #5 mother plants developed rapidly during vegetation, quickly acquiring a broad root system. After that, the trunk thickened and a branched crown with large internodes formed. When transitioning to flowering, the parent plants grew noticeably taller, and the smell took on aggressive notes, which continued to intensify until the 6th-7th week of flowering.
The appearance of the donor plants showed a slight sativa influence (color and spicy aroma) and an undeniable predominance of indica – leaf shape, fleshy inflorescences, strong and stocky structure. But the influence of the Afghan parent was most evident in the stickiness of Auto Gorilla #5, as the abundant resin production meant that the plants were not threatened by insect parasites. Contrasting against the bright green background, the stamens and pistils make this variety a beautiful and colorful one.
