The Jamaicans selected juicy, fertile phenotypes from closed populations in Thailand and Nepal for crossbreeding, after which they conducted several selection cycles. The resulting Thai-Nepalese sample was supplemented with Durban Poison genes: it inherited amazing heat immunity from its famous hardy ancestor.
The hybrid is based on Landrace cannabis and combines the outstanding qualities of both parents: incredible resinousness, grandiose bush size, and a dessert aroma with tropical notes. The masterful combination is reflected in the balance of Sativa and Indica (72%/23%). An additional 5% of Jamaican ruderalis provides autoflowering ability: vegetation automatically ends in 30-35 days.
During the creation process, neural networks and modern breeding technologies were used, which made it possible to qualitatively stabilize the genotype and obtain an extremely impressive autoflowering result! The parent plants were tested for hardiness in various habitats. Open and closed soil, hydroponics, greenhouses, and balconies—the plants adapted even when care and conditions were not ideal. Strong African immunity protected against insect parasites and also sustained the plants during dry periods. Outdoor samples showed tropical growth (up to 180 cm), while indoor plants reached 100-150 cm in height. The bushes were highly branched, and low-stress training helped to unlock their potential: LST and ScroG methods increased the total weight of inflorescences by 15-30% (up to 500-750 g/m2). However, in order to build up a solid volume, the hybrid required regular feeding and sufficient light.
The flowering period of Auto Gandalf’s Pipe donor plants lasted 65-70 days. The first 10-14 days before flowering saw a burst of vegetative growth, with the plants adding about a third of their final height. The flowering bushes of Auto Gandalf’s Pipe were impressive in their elegance: elongated wheels with numerous iridescent trichomes and a bright aroma. By the middle of ripening, the parent plants formed elegant, dense, elongated inflorescences. The massive buds sometimes bent the bush with their weight, and the branches may have needed support. When the trichomes filled with “milk” and the stigmas turned orange, the smell became spicy and intense, with piquant notes: it was clear that maturity had arrived.
