Opium x Pablo Escobar marijuana seeds are based on the genetics of very different Divine Seeds varieties, which are united only by their resounding success among knowledgeable audiences. Pablo Escobar is a Colombian sativa landrace, stabilized with virtually no changes – it is a beautiful tropical variety of rich green color (with a slight reddish tint), with a sweet mango aroma. As for Opium, this variety has been winning applause for several years thanks to its mighty mass of plants, light berry aroma, robust health, and XXL levels of resin and essential oils.
The hybrid we offer is 75% high-quality Afghan indica and 25% sativa genetics from Brazil and Colombia. An exquisite and rare combination! The combined aroma plays with an extremely rich palette of fruity, coniferous, and musky tones—similar to a blend of expensive varieties of strongly fermented tea, tinged with pieces of mango. Comparable in height to its parent Pablo Escobar, the new hybrid has fully inherited the resinousness of Opium Feminised – the breeders made sure of this by conducting numerous cycles of backcrossing during the creation of Opium x Pablo.
As is known from biology and genetics, the organism of mixed breeds is always better adapted compared to pure breeds – after all, they have a larger gene pool, and therefore more “evolutionary experience.” According to breeder reports, Opium & Pablo is no exception to the rule: testing in different climates, soils/substrates/hydroponic environments has revealed no vulnerabilities. Compared to its parent varieties, the strain showed 35% more resistance to heat (from Afghani) and a 32% increase in immunity to fungal diseases (Brazilian and Colombian jungles are humid equatorial zones).
The variety quickly gained vegetative mass, reaching its peak growth after an average of four months of development, at which point breeders transferred the plants to the flowering stage. The flower buds of Opium & Pablo resembled chestnuts blooming in spring—voluminous, intricate in shape and unusual in color, they oozed resin, spreading the poisonous aromas of tropical candied fruits, musk, and peppermint. It was the thick resin and pungent aroma that prevented the test samples from becoming prey to parasitic insects! The fleshy branches and stem held all this luxury without bending. The breeders experimented with different lighting and feeding regimes, finding no weak points in this new hybrid – except that the aromatic qualities were richer when the mother bushes grew in natural soil.
