The original genetics of Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies and Sun Sherbet, which gave the hybrid its sweet smell, have been supplemented with a share of Colombian sativa genes. Therefore, unlike other versions of Green Gelato, the Marley Seedbank version’s genotype is dominated by a tropical theme.
Nevertheless, breeders, working on the cutting edge of science and art, have kept the growth of their variety within the average height range and achieved a relatively short ripening period with a considerable yield. The aroma of Green Gelato is difficult to describe: floral, citrus, and tropical notes are offset by a creamy tone and a slight hint of mint. It is a fruitful variety with robust health and elite aesthetic qualities.
During seed production, Green Gelato mother plants demonstrated remarkable resilience and rapid vegetative growth, as well as versatility—Jamaicans noted that this strain is capable of adapting to any climate. On the one hand, this is not surprising: Green Gelato’s pedigree includes landraces from almost every corner of the globe: Africa, Myanmar, Pakistan, and Thailand, and the variety is related to the resilient and fragrant OG Kush and Chemdawg. On the other hand, after adding Colombian sativa, the result was unpredictable, and only one thing can be said with certainty: Green Gelato marijuana’s ability to thrive in indoor/outdoor soil, greenhouses, and all types of environments (substrate, soil, solution) is a result not only of genetics but also of careful selection, as Marley Seedbank is known for its scientific and progressive approach.
The appearance of the parent plants indicated mixed origins: rich tropical colors, narrow leaves, a wonderful structure, and a pleasant aroma were combined with a strong skeleton characteristic of Indica. Another Indica trait was the new hybrid’s tendency to branch actively when trained. The scent during flowering is concentrated and sweet, fruity.
