Blue Cheese cannabis seeds are a purple Indica marijuana strain with a berry and cheese aroma, combining the genetics of two dissimilar families. Its direct ancestor, Cheese, was created in the UK – an Indica based on Skunk #1 and Afghani. Blue Cheese’s other parent, Blueberry, is based on Thai and Afghan landraces.
Breeders have worked hard to achieve the optimal structure and substantial size of Blue Cheese, as well as to maximize the release of essential oils, and the result has been a resounding success. This variety is not inferior in weight even to pure Afghani strains!
The Blue Cheese parent strains wasted no time during vegetation, quickly forming new pairs of leaves and filling the entire available underground space with their root system. Their innate Afghan immunity allowed them to maintain their growth rate during the heat, while their tropical genetics protected the plants from mold and fungi. By the time the buds appeared and the plants entered a period of explosive growth (in 1-2 weeks, the bushes gained 20-30% in height), a cheesy aroma was already noticeable.
During flowering, the mother bushes became fluffy and voluminous, and by week 7-8, they were mostly lush, resinous, and elastic poppy heads. As the air temperature dropped at this stage, the inflorescences and sugar leaves turned into elegant red, purple, violet, and bluish tones. The aroma of the ripening Blue Cheese cannabis plantation was absolutely confectionery, smelling like a berry cheesecake.
