So, this is a derivative of the extremely popular Afghan-Brazilian hybrid, whose success for almost two decades has been a source of complete admiration for breeders, selectors, and fans of the plant.
To achieve a purple color, Divine Seeds crossed a fragrant fighter with a Colombian sativa. What was the result? The original fruity-juniper aroma of the hybrid indica was complemented by sweet grape notes — a sign of linalool content. The characteristic features of Opium have been preserved: a titanic amount of resin, a pungent smell, and a champion weight. In countries where medical cannabis is permitted, such strains can be prescribed by a doctor to relieve pain syndromes, muscle spasms, nausea, and loss of appetite.
Appearance of Black Opium
In short, these are robust plants with rich colors and a spreading structure. Breeders also report that the new subspecies has the characteristic resistance of the Opium family. Young seedlings grew rapidly, thickened their stems, and captured a substantial amount of space (24-36 liters) with their roots. An excellent response to any type of training allowed breeders to test various methods on the bushes (including those associated with stress). Provided that the plant was given time to recover from the impact, Black Opium proved to be a grateful material for such experiments, as a result of which one bush could be confused with an entire plantation.
As they transitioned to flowering, the mother plants added vegetative mass and revealed their sex—female in 99.9% of cases, since we are talking about cannabis seeds. The flower mass grew in dense clusters, giving the central top the size of Coffy’s fist from “The Green Mile.” The fruity and spicy tones in the aroma at this stage were complemented by a grape theme, which gradually became more pronounced.
At the time of ripening, the weight of the inflorescences could bend the powerful stems, and the smell became pungent, which led experts to compare the strain with such legendary bouquets as OG Kush or Diesel. Purple, red-blue, and crimson hues appeared when the nighttime air temperature dropped. A single parent bush could weigh up to 900 g without branches and leaves.

Can I plant them in July, or is it too late?
You can, but the plant will not grow as large because the light regime will change and the growing season will be shorter.
