The appearance of Black Opium Fast cannabis seeds caused a stir in the market and among experts. On the one hand, it has a striking yield, inherited from its powerful parents, and on the other hand, the flowering period of the strain has been significantly reduced thanks to the latest breeding methods. Representatives of various Opium phenotypes were involved in the selection stage for backcrossing. As is known, this genotype is originally an Afghan indica with an admixture of Brazilian sativa. There is also a Colombian sativa landrace, responsible for the blue and purple coloration of Black Opium Fast.
The high concentration of fragrant essential oils and trichomes makes this marijuana seed a record-breaker, capable of leaving many hybrids and pure Afghan varieties far behind. The outstanding immunity of the plants and the overall stability of the genotype—a homogeneous variety (individual plants are almost identical to each other)—should also be noted and deservedly praised, confirming the high quality of the material. This strain truly deserves its crazy popularity!
During the growing season, the young but already vigorous Black Opium Fast cannabis mother bushes stood out favorably against other plantings, striving to develop the most branched structure possible – a sign of properly grafted indica qualities. The noticeable density of the stem should also be noted in this regard. The tenacious, densely woven root system adapted to any soil or substrate. The variety is characterized by a moderate but lush crown—before the first hairs appeared (signaling pre-flowering), the green shoots and lush foliage already gave the plantations the appearance of a green jungle.
The slightly narrowed shape of the leaves with pointed tips indicated the morphological influence of the Colombian ancestor of this fast version. The tops boldly stretched toward the sun, reaching a height of 165 cm in open ground (100–140 cm indoors). The rich aroma palette was incomparable – noticeable even during vegetation, the aroma developed into a sweet fruity theme before flowering, and by the end, delicate shades of cherries and May lilacs were superimposed on the pungent musky smell. When exposed to low air temperatures, the inflorescences, tops, and sugar leaves turned deep purple and bluish-red.
