The first generation (F1) was obtained by crossing the rare dessert marijuana Red Hot Cookies and the flowery “citrus” strain Black Lemon Auto.
Thanks to this selection of parent lines, Black Muffin has inherited not only a fast flowering cycle, but also red, purple, and blue hues in its color. Its genealogy includes landraces from Africa, Colombia, Afghanistan, Mexico, Thailand, Hawaii, and Pakistan. As for the ancestral varieties, the most prominent names on the Black Muffin F1 Fast family tree are Girl Scout Cookies, Jack Herer, Skunk, Durban Poison, Haze, and Hindu Kush.
The aromatic profile of Black Muffin deserved special attention. During flowering and drying, the clusters exuded a rich aroma with hints of mandarin, wild berries, blooming lilac, and thyme. The terpene composition is dominated by a combination of limonene, myrcene, and carophyllene.

In closed ground, seedlings were planted in 18-32 liter pots. The main stem was powerful, and the side branches were long and strong, growing at a wide angle without crowding each other, which ensured uniform light access and air circulation inside the crown. LST and ScrоG contributed to a more even distribution of light throughout the bush and the development of additional flowering points. Stress training was not used on the fast version, as under stress this variety can “turn” into an autoflower.
Flowering began 3-8 days after switching to 12/12 and lasted only 7 weeks. In open ground, the inflorescences ripened by the end of September. No special care was required: it maintained an active growth phase even with minimal feeding and tolerated standard training methods well. Black Muffin demonstrated excellent weight: when grown indoors with good lighting and ventilation, 500-600 g/m2 were recorded. Outdoors, the final weight at the time of ripening was 450 g per plant. The strain proved to be adaptable to both indoor and outdoor conditions, although in outdoor plantings it preferred a warm, stable climate. For best results, the temperature should not fall below 18-20°C. In colder latitudes, protection from nighttime temperature fluctuations and additional shelter from precipitation was required, especially during the flowering phase.
Inflorescences formed along the entire length of the branches — dense, fleshy, and covered with fragrant resin. Their high density (evidence of the significant influence of Middle Eastern genetics) and special trichome density made Black Muffin F1 Fast Version not only visually appealing but also competitive: it will win more than one award at Cannabis Cup competitions! The bushes looked especially impressive in the last weeks of flowering: under the influence of lower night temperatures, the buds took on purple and violet hues, which was particularly striking in contrast to the crystals, white trichomes, and orange pistils.
