Overdose cannabis seeds are a progressive development in modern breeding, in which the classic advantages of Afghan indica are not only maximized but also given a favorable setting. The genotype contains a small proportion of sativa genes (Brazil, Mexico, Colombia). What did this mean in terms of selection? First, the variety is not short: although we are dealing with an indica, with a characteristic branchy structure and a huge amount of resin on dense buds, Auto Overdose is deliberately made medium-sized – this is partly the reason for its record yield. Secondly, its rich berry and pine aroma is reminiscent of sativa hybrids such as Diesel, and plant experts shake their heads in amazement: how the breeders managed to achieve such a bright aroma with such a small proportion of sativa genes remains a mystery.
Overdose autoflowering is already being compared to such titans in the world of indica as Mazar, L.S.D., Gagarin, and Opium for its endurance and high concentration of essential resins.
Neither nature nor breeders have yet invented a more stable and versatile form of cannabis than the high-altitude Afghan indica, and the sturdy Auto Overdose confirms this rule. Its strong root system was resistant to disease, found its way through any soil (even not particularly loose), and actively pumped nutrients and water into the plant. The thick stems were ready from the very beginning to bear the weight of dense, full buds. At the end of the growing season, the mother plants had gained a substantial amount of green mass, but there was no excess foliage, as the creators of the variety made sure that all parts of the bush received plenty of light and air.
With the onset of flowering and the appearance of buds, the height of the parent specimens increased by 30-40% in 1-2 weeks, reaching their final value. A pungent aroma appeared, which became poisonously dense closer to harvest. At 5-6 weeks of flowering, the buds, already large, went directly to ripening — cannabinoids and aromatic oils were produced, and the trichomes gradually turned from milky white to brown. When there were more brown trichomes (in open ground, this was in early September), the mother plants were ready for harvesting.
