Auto Blueberry marijuana seeds from Bulk Seeds are derived from Mexican, Afghani, and Thai landrace varieties. This purple cannabis strain with a berry aroma was first introduced to the world by breeder DJ Short in the 1970s. Created by crossing Temple Flo x Highland Thai Afghani, its pedigree includes such old-school marijuana strains as Chocolate Thai, Highland Oaxan Gold, and Floral Line.
So, the high anthocyanin content means that in the late weeks of flowering, as nighttime temperatures dropped, this cannabis plant developed purple and red-blue hues. The terpenes caryophyllene, myrcene, pinene, and linalool predominate, giving it a floral-berry aroma that has been compared to lilac or even lavender (depending on soil composition and other factors influencing development).
Auto Blueberry cannabis seeds were harvested from mother plants that clearly inherited the robust structure of Afghani indica. During the vegetative stage, they quickly developed a robust root system, followed by a moderately dense crown. Training resulted in a branched and spreading structure, a reliable foundation for a large harvest in the end. Considered an indoor variety, like any autoflowering strain, it adapted well to open ground conditions (southern Europe), greenhouses, and hydroponics. The emergence of ovaries was followed by a burst of vegetative growth (the final stage of green mass accumulation) lasting 1-2 weeks, after which the clusters of inflorescences began to enlarge.
The scent gradually intensified at this stage, acquiring increasingly fruity undertones. As ripening began, the crop already smelled “poisonous,” repelling insect pests. The dense inflorescences needed to be protected from stagnant air and moisture, so during heavy rains, the plantation was covered outdoors. Indoors, humidity was reduced to 40-50% during ripening. Regardless of the growing environment, ripening colas were inspected at least every 2-3 days to prevent rot. Outdoor harvest occurred in mid-August / late August.
