AK-47 XL x Purple cannabis seeds belong to the aromatic purple cannabis variety, which is particularly popular (and deservedly so) – this grape-like semi-sativa is high-yielding and exotic. In turn, the parent strains deserve a separate paragraph, because AK-47XL is a larger and more resinous modification of the popular champion strain created by the Canadian seed bank Divine Seeds – a seed bank that has produced masterful varieties such as Big Bang, Auto Big Demon, Opium, and Pablo Escobar.
The genetics of Purple are unknown, but this purple cannabis with the scent of grapes, Arched or Azalea, also contains sativa and indica in equal proportions. The AK-47XL x Purple cross combines the resilience of the AK-47 family with the stunning beauty of purple hybrids. The combination of the traits of both parent genotypes looks whimsical and original—you won’t confuse this strain with any other. The aroma is musk, grapes, citrus, and a hint of pine.
Depending on the phenotype, plants may exhibit different growth patterns. However, most representatives of the variety in seed production demonstrated a sativa phenotype: elongated leaves and shoots, slender bush shape. A few individuals with an indica-type appearance grew more in width, were branchy and stockier. They responded well to training and, thanks to their immunity and healthy root system, showed no signs of stress. No restrictions were observed in terms of growing environment: there were no significant differences in the behavior of AK-47 X Purple cannabis in indoor and outdoor conditions, greenhouses, and hydroponic systems.
During flowering, they quickly became covered with fluffy and airy floral mass, loose in structure. The scent had notes of expensive wood varieties, as well as citrus and (as it ripened) lilac and grapes. For a semi-sativar variety, the strain is very resinous, which successfully protected the planting from pests and UV radiation. When exposed to low air temperatures in the last 2-3 weeks of ripening, the upper leaves and stems turned purple, scarlet, and pink-violet.
